SURABAYA WASTE FLOW MAP

When waste is generated, where does it end up? Who is in charge? To answer the complexities of how waste is managed daily in Surabaya, Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) carried out months of in-depth research and engaged with various waste-related stakeholders, and summarized their learnings by formulating a Surabaya waste flow map. Additionally, an illustration competition was held to improve the visual design of the map. With an improved design, the map is used as a resource to raise public awareness on waste and recycling management.
