On November 13, 2019, OPPA held the kick off and the first workshop of the acceleration program that will take place from November 2019 to July 2020. Located at the Fave Hotel Surabaya, this event was attended by eight businesses and organizations consisting of representatives of waste banks, NGOs, communities, and plastic waste entrepreneurs. OPPA believes that the participants are among the many actors who play a role in handling plastic waste in Surabaya and surrounding areas. The eight participants were Robries, Surabaya Main Waste Bank, Sectoral Orchid Waste Bank, Surabaya River Care, Wehasta, Loh Jinawi, Indonesian Waste Entrepreneurs Association (APSI), and CV Alief Karya.
The inaugural workshop was themed "Basic Digital Tools" with the aim of introducing various digital applications and software that can facilitate team communication and create a more effective online-based work documents. The event began with an introduction to various basic applications such as Google Drive, Google Docs & Slides, Slack, and several other applications. The participants were also invited to practice the use of various devices. Some participants who have used the application did not hesitate to share their tips and experiences with other participants.
Over the next nine months, OPPA will hold monthly workshops by experts with different themes according to the needs of participants that we have mapped during the assessment process from September to October 2019. In addition to the workshop, the OPPA team will also facilitate mentoring sessions 1:1 at least once a month to follow up on the results of the workshop and also other needs of the participants. At the end of the program, OPPA will also hold a pitching session to give participants the opportunity to present their ideas and business to investors and donors.

Pada tanggal 13 November 2019 lalu OPPA mengadakan kick off dan workshop pertama program akselarasi yang akan berlangsung dari November 2019 hingga Juli 2020. Bertempat di Fave Hotel Surabaya, acara ini diikuti oleh delapan bisnis dan organisasi yang terdiri dari perwakilan bank sampah, NGO, komunitas, serta pengusaha sampah plastik. OPPA meyakini bahwa para peserta merupakan beberapa di antara banyak aktor yang berperan dalam penanganan sampah plastik di Surabaya dan sekitar. Delapan peserta tersebut adalah Robries, Bank Sampah Induk Surabaya, Bank Sampah Sektoral Anggrek, Peduli Sungai Surabaya, Wehasta, Loh Jinawi, Asosiasi Pengusaha Sampah Indonesia (APSI), dan CV Alief Karya.
Workshop perdana kali ini bertema “Penggunaan Perangkat Digital Untuk Optimalisasi Kerja” dengan tujuan memperkenalkan berbagai aplikasi dan software digital yang mampu mempermudah komunikasi tim dan membuat dokumen kerja berbasis online yang lebih efektif. Acara dimulai dengan pengenalan berbagai aplikasi dasar seperti Google Drive, Google Docs & Slides, Slack, dan beberapa aplikasi lainnya. Para peserta juga diajak untuk mempraktekkan penggunaan berbagai perangkat tersebut. Sebagian peserta yang sudah pernah menggunakan aplikasi tersebut tidak segan membagikan tips dan pengalamannya kepada peserta lainnya.
Selama sembilan bulan ke depan, OPPA akan mengadakan workshop rutin setiap bulan dengan tema yang berbeda-beda sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta yang telah kami petakan selama proses assessment di bulan September hingga Oktober 2019. Selain workshop, tim OPPA juga akan memfasilitasi sesi mentoring 1:1 minimal sekali dalam sebulan untuk menindaklanjuti hasil workshop dan juga kebutuhan lain dari para peserta. Pada akhir program, akan ada sesi pitching untuk memberi kesempatan para peserta mempresentasikan ide dan bisnis mereka di depan para investor dan lembaga donor.
