To celebrate the completion of Waste Community Accelerator’s second cohort, the Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) team held a Networking Event on July 28, 2021, aimed to support the program participants. The second cohort was held from December 2020 until May 2021. The participants are made up of waste management businesses in East Java: CV. Budi Recycle Partner from Ponorogo, Rejeki Zayyan from Lawang (Malang), CV. The Development of Awareness (DOA) from Malang, Urban Komposter and CV. KPL Sae (Geledek) from Sidoarjo and TPST Peganden Berhias Iman from Gresik.
The participants were given the opportunity to showcase their company profile and networked with about 30 stakeholders and investors from Indonesia’s waste management and recycling sector. Additionally, the event also consisted of waste management & recycling knowledge sharing from three speakers: Aria from Amartha, Bhima from Reciki, and Bobby from Sumber Djaya Perkasa & UPP.
The pinnacle event was the speed networking session, dividing participants into 3 breakout rooms and paired with 2 accelerator participants. Each participant was given 15 minutes in each breakout room and the enthusiasm was off the charts! Information and contact exchanges were made, providing a fruitful outlook on future collaboration.
OPPA extends its appreciation to the Waste Community Accelerator second cohort participants for the commitment during the past 8 months, and a thank you to all of the invitees that took part in the Networking Event. OPPA hopes that this has been a beneficial experience for all, and that it will encourage further collaboration towards realizing our mission in reducing ocean plastic pollution.
